This is my first time going to Oshkosh. Exciting right? So of course we will have to get there somehow.
My journey goes all the way from Orlando, Florida to Oshkosh, Wisconsin with stops in Memphis, St. Louis, and Chicago. It was a long and tiring trip, so hear me out. It started on Tuesday August 7th. Our first destination was Memphis, Tennessee. We arrived at the Loraine Hotel, The national civil rights museum. There I learned about the struggles of African Americans and what we went through get our rights. After that we went to Hard Rock Café of Memphis Tennessee. I tried something new and loved it. That was amazing for me because it’s rare that I tried new things.
Then I traveled to St. Louis, Missouri. We visited the arch and learned it was made to celebrate the expansion to the west. After that we went down the Mississippi river. We visited the Cahokia Indian mounds on august 9th. We learned how the Indians lived and survived over the years. Our next destination was the amazing Chicago. On Saturday august 10th, we spent the Sabbath at Garfield park conservatory. We saw a variety of flowers and plants in different conditions. On Sunday august 11th we journeyed to the great city of Chicago. We walked a total of 15 million steps (in my opinion). And my feet are still sore. On that day we went to sky deck Willis tower.
Then we walked to the park and we saw the Buckingham fountain. Then we crept walking to the Art Institute of Chicago and put our feet in a stream. That felt really good since we did walk 15 million miles. Then we went to the most exciting thing in Chicago; The Bean. After that we journeyed to the Navy Pier. And we saw the Farris wheel. Then we went shopping at last! And I got Japanese soda at a candy store. And finally we made our way to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. But my feet will hurt even more now.
