“Eeeeehhhhh”! I squealed as I jumped from bed to bed. I was excited for two reasons. One, I was in a hotel room with my two BFF’s Monique and Michelle. Two, I was going to Oshkosh. What is there not to be excited about? Of course I was also crazy nervous. 50,000+ people! My friends and I fell on the bed laughing. It was Sunday night and all day we had been driving (eating lots of sugar) from the O’neal’s house in Ohio. Now we were in Wisconsin, 30 minutes or less from Oshkosh. After we had finished laughing we went to an Italian place with my Pathfinder group, the Manchester Mustangs. After we ate, (with a couple of scoldings from Monique about pickles and pizza) we went back to the hotel and stayed up till 11 with TV and Games.
“Turn it off,” I said sleepily.
It was four a.m. and the alarm went off. We had agreed to wake up at 4:30, not 4. ”
I’m trying” said Michelle.
We ended up waking up at that time anyway. After breakfast at 6, we watched the promo video for this year’s Oshkosh for the millionth time. It always makes me super excited. During the car ride, Monique and I literally did not stop talking. We’re here. Everything is bigger, better, and well, scarier then I imagined. The stage and signs were huge. And like there are so many cars and buses. Not to mention how many people. Wow. Michelle said today that Oshkosh is the greatest camporee ever and I agree. This is going to be awesome. Boom. Drop the mic.
