Harvest Sabbath was held December 8, 2018, sponsored by Community Services at the Highland Church in Portland, Tenn. Hundreds of canned goods, fresh vegetables, and Christmas treats were gathered in the church foyer. The next day, Community Services volunteers met and compiled 56 boxes of food, and distributed them to 35 needy families in and around Portland. The boxes also included gifts for children and grocery gift cards.
