The Georgia-Cumberland Conference (GCC) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Zita has accepted the call to serve as the new Publishing Ministry/HHES director. In this role, Jonathan will provide leadership for the Conference’s Publishing Ministry, Home Health Education Services (HHES), and Family Home Christian Books program, helping to advance the mission of literature evangelism throughout the territory and beyond.
“I’m excited to welcome Jonathan to the GCC team. We believe the publishing ministry plays a vital role in sharing the three angels’ messages, and I look forward to seeing how God will use Jonathan’s experience and passion to strengthen this ministry throughout our Conference,” shares Gary Rustad, Georgia-Cumberland Conference president.
Zita brings more than 25 years of experience in this area of outreach. Most recently, he has served as executive director of Lifestyle Canada Education Service, where he has directed Canada’s literature evangelism ministry since 2013. His responsibilities have included recruiting and training literature evangelists, overseeing youth and adult evangelism programs, managing publishing initiatives, and developing partnerships with churches and conferences.
During his leadership in Canada, Zita provided oversight to the Canada Youth Challenge program across seven Seventh-day Adventist conferences, involving approximately 50 students each year. He has also helped lead the annual distribution of more than 300,000 GLOW evangelistic pamphlets.
He served as publishing director for Autumn House/Review & Herald Publishing Association, 2007–2012, and as literature evangelism district leader for the Ontario Conference, 2001–2007. Zita holds a bachelor’s degree in pastoral evangelism from Hartland College and is fluent in English and French. He, and his wife, Denisa, have two young adult children.
As GCC publishing/HHES director, Zita will lead efforts to recruit and mentor literature evangelists, support the student MagaBook program, coordinate training, advance the Light America Mission initiative, and strengthen publishing outreach throughout the Georgia-Cumberland Conference.
The Georgia-Cumberland Conference family is excited to welcome Jonathan Zita, and looks forward to seeing how God will use his experience, leadership, and passion for evangelism as they continue to reach others with the unique Seventh-day Adventist Christ-centered message of hope and wholeness.
