Ángel Rijos, pastor, in partnership with the Southern Union Conference, successfully completed an evangelistic initiative.
This evangelistic journey did not begin with the July meetings. Rather, it was the culmination of a comprehensive evangelistic strategy that began with the April reaping campaigns. Each outreach event, Bible study, small group meeting, and evangelistic activity served as intentional preparation for the major campaign conducted July 25–28, 2026, followed by the closing weekend with Roger Hernández, Southern Union Conference ministerial and evangelism director, held July 29 through August 1, 2026.
By God’s grace, the overall evangelistic effort resulted in a total of 52 baptisms and professions of faith. During the closing weekend, there were 11 individuals baptized and five professions of faith, while the remaining 36 baptisms and professions of faith took place throughout the evangelistic efforts conducted from April through early July.
Attendance during the closing meetings from Wednesday through Sabbath included approximately 110 community guests, friends, and family members. Considering the immigration-related challenges currently affecting many families in the communities, this level of participation was especially encouraging and demonstrates the continued openness of people to the Gospel.
This campaign also produced a strong evangelistic pipeline. These 110 guests, friends, and family members represent a significant pool of interests who will continue to be nurtured through intentional discipleship and follow-up ministry.
To build on the momentum created by this campaign, eight-week Bible study classes began August 8, 2026, in each of the three churches within Rijos’ district. The classes are designed to strengthen new believers, continue preparing Bible interests for future baptisms, and further develop a culture of discipleship throughout the district.
The Conference recognizes Rijos for his outstanding leadership throughout this initiative. The campaign was exceptionally well organized, from the parking and guest reception to the overall coordination of every aspect of the meetings. Equally impressive was the extensive preparation carried out through the district’s small group ministry, which clearly laid the foundation for the spiritual harvest that followed.
Hernández personally expressed his appreciation for the outstanding planning, organization, and preparation demonstrated by Rijos and his leadership team throughout the entire evangelistic process.
This initiative serves as an excellent model of sustained evangelism, demonstrating that when prayer, intentional planning, small groups, Bible studies, and public evangelism work together, God blesses with an abundant harvest.
To God be all the glory for His abundant blessings and for the lives that have been transformed through this evangelistic effort.
