Bike for Life

By Cameron Zinke

I hear many people complaining about all they had to go through to get to Oshkosh. They grumble about the few long days of sitting in an air-conditioned car, bored out of their minds, on their way to the camporee.  But, you will not hear that story from me or anyone else that rode with the Carolina Conference Bike for Life. Bike for Life is a ministry put on by the Carolina conference. We first started in Asheville, NC and rode all the way to Oshkosh, WI.

We would wake up around 4:30 to 5:00, and ride to our next destination, which was used to be hosted by various Seventh-day Adventist churches and schools. It was sometimes a challenge, but every day we went to a local YMCA for showers. We also had brochures that explained who we were and what we were doing and also had links for Bible studies. We tried to hand out as many out as we could. Mathew Thomas said, “Hand out a Brochure, or your trip will be a blur there will be no real meaning in the prayer talks or the singing.” It was truly an amazing experience biking for miles on miles meeting new friends along the way. “I wish I could have biked with you,”  said Justin Bobo.
