Southern Pines, N.C., Church is a church on the move. The church experienced the loss of their pastor, Randy Curtis, while he was on a mission trip with his wife, Murticia. Robert Green Jr., was assigned to lead the church after Curtis’ passing, and his leadership has been a major part of the church’s forward progress.
Since he began his leadership as pastor, 31 new members have been baptized. Of the newly baptized members, 25 are between the ages of 5 and 18 years old. One baptism service included the Robles family with the mother, father, and their five children.
Every fourth Sabbath, the church visits different communities by going door to door passing out literature, praying with the families, and enrolling people in Bible studies.
Over the years, the members had to use personal vehicles to transport people to and from church. After solidifying the finances of Southern Pines Church, Green led the members in purchasing a 2019 Ford Transit 15-passenger van. The van is used to transport new members to and from church services. In addition, it is used to transport members without transportation for grocery shopping, doctors’ appointments, and other church and youth events.
Southern Pines members plan to continue the evangelism outreach and in-reach service for the church and the surrounding communities.
