The South Atlantic Conference’s Hispanic Ministries Department celebrated a significant evangelistic milestone this summer, as more than 68 persons committed their lives to Jesus Christ through baptism during a coordinated outreach effort that culminated at the Conference’s annual Hispanic Camp Meeting.
The “Miracles” Evangelistic Caravan, conducted July 18-23, 2026, brought together 41 Hispanic congregations across Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina in a united effort to share the Gospel throughout their communities. The initiative was organized through a partnership between the South Atlantic Conference Hispanic Ministries Department, the Southern Union Conference, and the North American Division.
Local pastors joined guest evangelists from Argentina in presenting a week of evangelistic meetings focused on hope, restoration, and salvation. The outreach resulted in dozens of baptisms as individuals responded to the message of the Gospel.
The evangelistic campaign concluded with the South Atlantic Conference Hispanic Camp Meeting, held July 24-26, at River Oaks Camp in Orangeburg, S.C. The annual gathering brought together members from across the Conference for a weekend of worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal, while celebrating the results of the week’s evangelistic outreach.
Conference leaders and special guests included Calvin B. Preston, South Atlantic Conference president; David Smith, executive vice president; Allan Machado, D.Min., Southern Union Conference executive secretary; and Julio Chazarreta, Southern Union Hispanic Ministries director. Other guests included Esperanza TV representative Axel Orellana; Oswaldo Rigacci, vice president for multicultural ministries for Southwestern Union; Central Argentina Conference president Horacio Fernández; and keynote speakers Omar and Nessy Grieve of La Voz de la Esperanza.
The weekend reached its high point during the baptismal celebration when more than 36 persons were baptized. Ordained elders joined pastors in the baptistry to offer prayers of dedication for each candidate.
Conference leaders said the spiritual harvest is expected to continue in the coming weeks as additional baptismal candidates complete preparations in local Hispanic congregations.
Organizers credited the success of the evangelistic initiative to the collective efforts of volunteers and ministry leaders who served throughout the week.
