Bethany Church partnered with Remote Area Medical (RAM) to host its Second Annual RAM Community Outreach Clinic on April 25–26, 2026, at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. Through faith, service, and community collaboration, hundreds of individuals received free medical, dental, and vision care, demonstrating Bethany Church’s commitment to meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the community.
Preparation for the clinic began weeks in advance as church members, volunteers, and community partners worked together to spread the word throughout Montgomery. Volunteers distributed flyers throughout neighborhoods, churches, and local businesses to ensure that individuals and families in need were aware of the free services available.
Community partners, including Marche Johnson, city councilor, and Carmen Moore Zeigler, commissioner, supported the outreach effort by helping to connect community residents with available services, and contributing resources that enhanced the clinic experience. Their partnership helped expand awareness and strengthen community engagement throughout the event.
The two-day clinic brought together more than 395 volunteers, including healthcare professionals, church members, community leaders, a local barber, and vendors who shared a common mission of serving others. Medical, dental, and vision services were provided at no cost to patients, many of whom would otherwise have limited access to healthcare.
The impact of the clinic was significant. On Saturday, 308 patients received services valued at approximately $161,618. By the close of the clinic on Sunday, a total of 471 patients had been served, with services totaling approximately $338,550.
In addition to healthcare services, a local barber donated his time and talents by providing free haircuts to community members. Local vendors also participated by sharing educational materials, health information, and valuable community resources designed to support families beyond the clinic weekend.
This year’s outreach continued the momentum established during Bethany’s inaugural RAM Clinic in 2025, when approximately 557 patients received services valued at $314,734. The continued partnership between Bethany Church and Remote Area Medical has strengthened the church’s ability to address healthcare disparities while demonstrating Christ’s love through practical service.
Patients, volunteers, and providers expressed gratitude throughout the weekend. One provider shared, “I’m glad I was able to be a part of the RAM Clinic. I saw a real need in this community, and I’ll be back every year you host this. It’s a privilege to serve where it matters.”
Many patients also expressed appreciation for the compassionate care they received. For some, the clinic provided access to services they had delayed or gone without due to financial barriers. The kindness and professionalism shown by volunteers left a lasting impression on those who attended.
As the clinic concluded, volunteers reflected on the lives touched and the hope restored. The event served as a powerful reminder that ministry extends beyond the church walls and into the community through acts of compassion and service. Bethany Church members remain committed to serving Montgomery and surrounding communities through outreach ministries that reflect the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
The success of the second annual RAM Community Outreach Clinic stands as a testament to what can be accomplished when faith, community partnerships, and a spirit of service come together to meet the needs of others.
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord,” Jeremiah 30:17 NIV.
