The Health Ministries departments from the Carolina Conference and the Southern Union teamed up this fall and offered two training workshops, one hosted at Foster Church in Asheville, N.C., and the other at the Spartanburg Church in Spartanburg, S.C., on consecutive weekends, August 18-19 and August 25-26, 2018.
Lynell LaMountain, health ministries director at the Southern Union, was the speaker at both churches, and in the afternoon he trained two packed rooms of attendees on how to deliver a CREATION Health seminar series. Individuals traveled from all over the Carolinas to attend the two training sessions.
On Sunday morning, Stephen and Karen Wickham held a separate training and certification to teach members how to conduct a reversing diabetes class in the local church.
The “CREATION” in CREATION Health is an acronym — Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition, and the seminars in the series present what each letter represents. The intent is to help each attendee make decisions which lead them toward a healthier lifestyle. CREATION Health was originated by Florida Hospital, and is now taught all over the Southern Union and beyond.
