The Dothan, Ala., First Church rccruited volunteers from several Adventist churches in Alabama and Florida to sew more than 500 cloth face masks in late April 2020. The covers were given to John Deer Company employees, Alfred Saliba’s Family Services, Southeast Alabama Homecare employees, and doctors and nurses at Southeast Health.
The project was made possible by JOANN Fabric and Craft Store, which donated 50 yards of fabric; Walmart, which gave four boxes full of material; and local church members who donated fabric for the project. The church is grateful for the support from their local members and others who helped to make a positive community impact through a partnership with local businesses.
