The Fayette, Ga., Church started the new year with ministerial and spiritual activities. A seniors’ ministries day was held January 15, 2017, sponsored by the Family Life Department, under the leadership of Gloris Shaw and her team, Darren Thompson and Chelisia Seon. They sponsored a formal banquet for the church’s seniors.
The event was not just entertainment. It honored two important groups of people, the seniors, or those over age 50, and those who served in the military, the veterans.
A cadre of youth attended the guests, escorting them to their seats, serving the meals, and cleaning up. Special music was provided by Eliana and Bronwin Feagins, and Eliana Feagins and Rio Nunnelly. The banquet featured a delicious, nutritious, vegetarian meal prepared by Lindy Smith and team.
The attendees were uplifted. Upon leaving the banquet, many of the guests attended the fifth-day service of the church’s “10 Days Of Prayer” initiative, wearing their tuxedos and gowns, to end the event.
