The Multicultural Department held its Latino Camp Meeting during the weekend of May 15-17, 2026, at Camp Garner Creek in Dickson, Tenn. The event was held under the theme “On the Way to the Final Goal.”
This year, Camp Meeting placed special emphasis on the family. The purpose was to continue advancing the mission of reaching others for Christ without neglecting the foundation of the congregations: the family. It’s recognize that families are the cornerstone of both society and the Church, and it’s firmly believed that Heaven will be even more beautiful when families arrive together at the feet of Christ.
César De León, Ph.D., and his wife, Carolann De León, MSMFT, director and associate director of family ministries for the North American Division, served as the main speakers for the event. Benjamín Carballo, pastor and Hispanic coordinator for the Nevada-Utah Conference, was the guest speaker. He delivered messages for Youth Congress, which was held in conjunction with the adult and children’s programs.
In addition, the musical ministry of Hugo Yin and Japhet Ruiz greatly blessed the congregation through their worship and musical talents. Furman Fordham II, pastor and president of the South Central Conference, attended the Friday and Sabbath programs.
By the grace of God, attendees were richly blessed through the presentations shared by the De León family, especially their emphasis on the emotional and spiritual wounds that many individuals experience. Without a doubt, one of the most meaningful messages of the weekend was the reminder that Jesus continues to be the Healer and Restorer as all journey “On the Way to the Final Goal.” In one way or another, all are shaped by their roots and life experiences; however, in Christ, many find restoration, hope, and a renewed opportunity to become a blessing to others.
The youth were also deeply impacted by Carballo’s messages, as he emphasized the different stages of the Christian life using the story of the Samaritan woman, and the way Jesus encountered her during one of the most difficult moments of her life. Meanwhile, the children enjoyed a special program entitled “My God and I: Walking with Jesus,” through which they also received meaningful spiritual blessings and valuable lessons for their lives.
On Sabbath afternoon, a beautiful concert featuring adults, youth, and children, created a special atmosphere of worship and praise. Truly, all were lifted to the throne of grace through music and worship. Later that evening, social and recreational activities were held, allowing all attendees to enjoy moments of wholesome fellowship and Christian companionship.
As a special note of gratitude to God, it should be highlighted that the Lord blessed the attendance, which exceeded expectations, despite the fears many are experiencing because of the aggressive manner in which federal and state authorities are acting toward undocumented individuals. Despite those fears, many still chose to come seeking a spiritual blessing, and the God of Heaven honored their faith and prayers on their behalf. By God’s grace, everyone who traveled to Dickson, Tenn., for Camp Meeting arrived safely and returned home without incident. To God be all the glory for His divine protection and care.
Camp Meeting concluded in a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The speakers, together with the pastors, led a special anointing service in which many individuals came forward with the desire to rededicate their lives and families to Christ as they continue walking “On the Way to the Final Goal.”
May God be praised for the abundant blessings received throughout the wonderful and spiritually uplifting weekend, and may the spiritual fruits of Camp Meeting continue to be reflected in every family and church represented.
