For 40 years, the Samaritan Center has helped neighbors find help, support, and hope. Thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, community partners, and thrift store shoppers, this ministry is now reaching even more families.
In June 2026, the Samaritan Center announced the expansion of its Social Services program into three additional Hamilton County zip codes, 37406, 37411, and 37412, providing more neighbors access to assistance. The move reflects both a growing need within the community and the Samaritan Center’s continued commitment to serving neighbors with compassion and care.
“For a long time, some neighbors heard the words, ‘I’m sorry, you live outside our service area,’” said Erin Westberg, executive director. “Now, because of the generosity of this community, that is changing. This expansion is more than a change on a map. It is an opportunity to say yes to more families in crisis and offer practical help, encouragement, and hope when they need it most.”
The Samaritan Center provides assistance to individuals and families facing a financial crisis, food insecurity, housing instability, and other hardships. Programs include financial assistance for rent, mortgages, and utilities; food support; school supplies; baby layettes; homeless support; and connections to additional community resources.
The expansion comes as many families continue to struggle with rising housing, utility, and grocery costs. From January through June 2026, the Samaritan Center assisted more than 526 households, providing more than $314,580 in assistance to families throughout the community.
As needs grow, so does the opportunity to make a difference.
