This is my first time at Oshkosh and honestly I can say that I’m actually really enjoying myself.
It was a few years ago when our director first mentioned it to us. She told us about all the wonderful things Oshkosh had to offer and since then I just couldn’t wait.
Now the day had finally come just a few weeks before my first Oshkosh we had everything packed and ready to go. The trip here was definitely one to remember. Especially, since our club is from South Florida we are the New Life Light Bearers.
We shared a bus with people from Jamaica for the ride to Oshkosh which took us about a day and a half. The bus ride was exhilarating as we played games, sang our favorite songs, and laughed together.
Then our faithful arrival to Oshkosh entering the campgrounds I was kind of disappointed. I said to myself this is Oshkosh? But they always tell us never judge a book by its cover, because the experience I’ve had since I came off that bus has been so rich.
I have met so many different people from all over and it’s fascinating to learn about their cultures. Not to mention, completing new honors and pin trading has been really cool.
Oshkosh is the best and I’ll be so sad when it’s time to leave I can’t wait for the next one.
